Insight into EMEA cloud computing plans /tools-for-marketers/executive-summary-cloud-computing-emea-region/ Mon, 02 May 2022 15:07:21 +0000 /tools-for-marketers/executive-summary-cloud-computing-emea-region/ Explore cloud computing trends in EMEA

As EMEA companies increasingly see value from cloud migration, they’re pursuing a deliberate cloud-first or cloud-native approach to IT infrastructure. Foundry’s 2022 Cloud Computing Survey shows that IT leaders in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) are far more likely (84%) than those elsewhere to have accelerated their cloud migration in the last 12 months.

This executive summary based on the latest EMEA research outlines the challenges that IT leaders in EMEA are experiencing, what is motivating their shift to the cloud, their expected top growth areas for cloud computing, and how they expect to allocate their IT budget to cloud investments.

Download the executive summary to learn:

  • How much EMEA tech decision-makers expect to spend towards cloud computing initiatives over the next 12 months.
  • Organizations’ plans for migrating applications and workloads to the cloud, and also how they plan to default to cloud-based services.
  • Which areas EMEA IT leaders believe to be the top three cloud growth areas currently.
  • The roadblocks that EMEA ITDMs face while implementing their cloud strategy and the help they need from cloud providers.

Explore cloud computing trends in APAC /tools-for-marketers/executive-summary-cloud-computing-apac-region/ Tue, 26 Apr 2022 14:57:09 +0000 /tools-for-marketers/executive-summary-cloud-computing-apac-region/ Cloud computing trends in the APAC region

According to Foundry’s 2022 Cloud Computing research, just 27% of companies in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region currently have most or all of their IT environment in the cloud, compared to 41% globally – but they expect that to double to 53% in the next 18 months. While APAC organizations may be slightly behind their global counterparts when it comes to their current cloud status, they have plans in place accelerate their cloud use in the future.

This executive summary based on the latest APAC research outlines the challenges that IT leaders in APAC are experiencing, what is motivating their shift to the cloud, their expected top growth areas for cloud computing, and how they expect to allocate their IT budget to cloud investments.

2020 Cloud Computing Study /tools-for-marketers/2020-cloud-computing-study/ Mon, 08 Jun 2020 11:59:52 +0000 /tools-for-marketers/2020-cloud-computing-study/ As organizations continue to realize benefits from cloud computing, there is no question that cloud tools and solutions are here to stay. IDG’s 2020 Cloud Computing research measures cloud computing trends among technology decision-makers (ITDMs) including their current and future plans when it comes to migrating applications/workloads to the cloud, investments, and business drivers. The results this year show that 81% of organizations have at least one application or a portion of their computing infrastructure in the cloud, which is up from 73% in 2018. See below for some key findings and sample slides on the research.

Key Findings:

  • 92% of organization’s IT environment is at least somewhat in the cloud today, as only 8% say their total IT environment is all on-premises.
  • There are dollars to be spent on cloud tools as close to one-third (32%) of total IT budget will be allocated to cloud computing within the next year.
  • Cloud-first applications may become more prevalent over time – currently 46% of organization’s cloud-based applications were purpose built for the cloud as 54% moved from an on-premises environment.
  • More than half (55%) of organizations currently use multiple public clouds, with 21% saying they use three or more.
  • The biggest challenges that ITDMs face when it comes to the ability to take full advantage of their public cloud resources are controlling cloud costs and data privacy/security challenges.
